Pattern is based on a multiple of 10 stitches (plus 3 for the base chain)
This scarf is based on 240 chain (add 3 chain for the base), so begin with 243 chains.
If you wish the scarf to be shorter or longer, take away or add groups of 10 chains.
Start: 243 Chain (if you are worried that you may have miscounted the number of stitches, it is always good to add some more chains – any unused ones at the end can be undone).
Row 1: 1 treble in 4th chain from hook, 1 treble in next 3 chains; *miss 2 chains (this becomes the “dip” in the ripple), 1 treble in next 4 chains; 2 chains (this becomes the “hill” in the ripple); 1 treble in next 4 chains*; repeat from * to *. When there are six chains remaining, miss 2 chains, 1 treble in next 3 chains; 2 treble in last chain. Turn.
Row 2: Change colour if you wish; 3 chain (counts as 1 treble), 1 treble into same stitch; 1 treble in next 3 stitches; *miss 2 stitches; 1 treble in next 3 stitches; (1 treble, 2 ch, 1 treble in 2 chain space); 1 treble in next 3 stitches*; repeat from * to *. When you get to the last section of the row, miss 2 trebles, 1 treble in next 3 stitches, 2 treble in top of 3rd chain. Turn.
Repeat row 2 until desired width.
